![]() ![]() I would highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, wants to get involved in skiing but is wary of hitting the real slopes for the first time as a rank noob. The high price was likely the cost of the initial new tech, but still, a 1,600 device should perform excellent. Once the price went down (I got mine for 750) I think its been a great device. I can only speak from the perspective of a novice, but I found the experience fun, educational, and confidence building. They were asking 1,600 for a device that, while looked amazing, performed only ok. My son and I plan to return for the 4-lesson series, after which I have no doubt we'll be ready to hit the slopes this winter. We were then fitted for equipment on site, the use of which was included in the price. All we did was make our reservations, e-sign our waivers, and show up in long sleeves and long pants. ![]() The experienced skier in our group said he thought the treadmill was if anything more challenging than the beginner slopes that he had skied, so that gave me confidence the skills we were learning would translate well to the real world. And as Don explained, it could go 3 times faster and twice as steep as the setting used for us, so even expert skiers could benefit from using it. The treadmill was non-threatening for us beginners but challenging enough for the more experienced skier in our group. There was both a small static slope for just getting used to being on skis and the moveable treadmill, which was super fun. The coach, Don, was knowledgeable, encouraging, and friendly. The 13-year-old got expert coaching to help improve his confidence and proficiency on the slopes, while my son and I both got a manageable introduction to the basics. The bottom line is all of us got exactly the coaching and experience that was appropriate to our levels. Also in our group was my 19-year-old son (who had never been skiing) and his 13-year-old cousin (who had been skiing 5 or 6 times). At my age, I was looking for a structured way to ease into it. I'm 52, and while I've been involved in athletics of one sort or another (road biking, running, obstacle course races, BMX) throughout my adult life, I've never tried skiing. ![]()
